 The plot in this book didn't have me wanting to keep reading. I was confused most of the time why certain characters were doing what they were doing. The writing is pretty good but not the best. I have read other books from Schwab which the writing was much better. Even with that there were parts of the book where I was genuinely getting the shivers. That shows how amazing her writing is, that even on her sub par books that she can do that. This book is very much a thriller with a subplot of mystery but I felt that the mystery seemed to solve itself towards the end of the book. This book is definitely creepy in its own right but not the best book I have read in this genre.
