I have loved all of the Baxter series. This book was not it.
The first half she gives us a condensed version of everyone’s stories. It is not needed. It’s a series. I get it that she wanted to make this one a stand alone but it just took so much away from the story.
This book just made me so mad.
To me it feels like Erin was just a throwaway character. Karen never gave her a book to share her story like she did with the others. Heck Dayne got his own series and she did a side series on Bailey and some other random characters. It's the Baxter series but she didn't tell us the full story on all the Baxters. It seemed to me that she made the family so big just so she could kill off an entire branch of the family. Which just so happened to be the one she told us so little about.
I would've been so much happier had she given us Erin's story from the get go.
Instead she killed her off and we never get to know her.
