Falsely convicted of treason and sold into slavery, Peter Blood's journey highlights the era's injustices and searches for timely solutions. Although seas battles and a complicated woman are key, Sabatini appears most interested in the moral predicament of Blood, who struggles to maintain an honorable code while living the pirate life.
