A Feast for Crows by George R.R. Martin

3.0

I was happy that I seemed to finally know which character was which and whose side they were on. And then, in this book, George R. R. Martin made it difficult again.
With the many characters, I feel like it should be easier to be able recognise who is who, as long as the writer helps. After three books I sort of got the hang of it, but in this book, there are so many new characters. Or not even new characters, just new perspectives from the characters I’ve already read about. However, it makes it so difficult to understand and read, especially when not everyone is mentioned by name. Some chapters start with their title, or the location of the person, and
Sansa's chapters often had her fake name, so then it would take me a while to know it was her
.
Furthermore, I feel like this was very much an in-between book. The big things happened in the previous part and we are now again leading up to the next battle.
Although, considering this was only half of the characters, I’m assuming that the actual battle itself still has to be written, because I think we’ll now see this period of “peace” from a different perspective.

This book was really interesting in comparison to the series, because I feel like this has shown the most differences so far.
Overall, quite fun, but just not really a book for me. It can often get a bit too complicated with too many characters.
