Absolutely amazing,The Shining blew me away. I had to keep taking breaks while reading because it felt so real, like I was actually inside the Overlook Hotel with the characters. The writing is just that good. You could really feel the insanity slowly building up in everyone, and by the end of part 3 things got seriously scary. Some scenes were straight up terrifying in the best way. It's hands down the best horror book I've read so far. Way better than the movie in my opinion. I also loved how it explored generational trauma and how those effects ripple through a family. Just amazing all around.
