When I first read this, I gave it 4 stars. To be honest, I didn’t enjoy reading it all that much. I was tempted to not even continue to crooked kingdom. I just didn’t care all that much.
Well, as you can see, I changed the rating with this second read. Six of Crows lives from its characters. It’s what makes it brilliant and what made me love reading it for the second time. Yes, the heist is cleverly executed, but a heist story doesn’t excite me. What excites me are these six idiots doing the heist, who I’ve fallen in love with. Kaz is just a little emo bitch who is too smart for his own good. And I love him for his drama. Especially Jesper stole my heart. He already did when I read the book for the first time and I could appreciate him even more this second time. I love that little dummy, with is funny remarks and love for a gamble. I could write an essay about every crow.

When I first read this, I wasn’t invested in the characters. They didn’t have permanent residence in my brain. But now I definitely do. I’m part of the fandom and I enjoy this world with its characters so so much. I started with six of crows, and now returning to it, having read all the other grishaverse books, it was absolutely beautiful to come back.
