Light Years

3.5 stars because there are some solid and interesting plot points, but it feels a bit like reading off a checklist of elements that a slightly dystopian YA novel should have. It really comes down to an underdeveloped world. We get glimpses of what life is like on the different planets that the characters come from and a glimpse at what may be a major conspiracy, but it all feels like an afterthought to the development of character's feelings... which, sure, are an important part in a good story, but I actually love being able to feel like their world is fully realized and lived in while they developed those very important feelings.
Overall, I'm not majorly impressed but I will be following up on the story mainly because I am truly intrigued by the hints of a conspiracy that were dropped.
