One of the things I like most about this book was how easy it was to read. Laura Nowlin's writing and pacing really got me into the feel of being in high school. I was remembering all the similar experiences, thoughts, and feelings I had ten years ago while in high school, which made the emotions in the story much more real to me. While it is sad as a story itself, the author's ability to convey the deep emotions and closeness of teenagers made it.
