There are some things I really enjoyed. I loved the attention the author paid to the different characters. She gave them such a great back story. I enjoyed following the heart from Simon to Claire. I also enjoyed the emotion given to Simon’s parents and the fact that his kid sister reacted as a real child would, not quite understanding but able to read a room.

What I didn’t enjoy were the sentences that went on for days, the overly flowery description of things that didn’t exactly matter, the use of the term harvest (it’s recover, we recover organs from donors), and the fact that a whole sentence could be a paragraph. These made the book hard for me to get through.

I won’t read this book again, but I would consider giving it to a few people I know.
