This was cute, I liked it more than the first in the series.
The book is very short, which is fine, but I just wish everything has been EXPANDED on. I want to know MORE about when they interacted in school. I want to know MORE about Hannah's relationship with the kids. I'd like to know more about his dead wife, and I kinda wanted his feelings towards starting a new relationship to be more complicated from a widower perspective.
I wanted to know MORE about Rae. I understand she gets her own book, but I wanted her friendship with Hannah to be more fleshed out, because I hate how singlemindedly focused romance books are on the lead characters (i know, I'm stupid, but it would feel realer if their relationships outside of the romance were explored a little more)
The ending felt super rushed, I actually really disliked it. It also felt thin, like there had been no reason for the two to worry in the first place, that's how anticlimactic everything was.
However, I thought the leads were cute and more interesting than Ruth and Evan, I thought the plot was serviceable. It was fine.
