Persuasion by Jane Austen

5.0

You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago. Dare not say that man forgets sooner than woman, that his love has an earlier death. I have loved none but you.

Everytime I read a book by Jane Austen, I declare it my favourite work by her, simply because each book is unique and stand out as its own character, and this was is no exception.

Persuasion is concidered to be the most autumnal work by Jane Austen, and the vibes are immaculate. This is about second chances, making a place for yourself and living your life without the influece of others. Anne, the main character, has been persuaded to break the engagement to the person she loved the most, because that person didn't fit her social statut. Eight years later, chances or fate put them together at the same path, and at this time, Anne is torn between rekindling her love to Captain Wentworth or listen to the persuasion of her family and close friends

I have nothing to add to the millions who fell in love with Jane's writing and witticism; her work, in my opinion, stood the test of time, and stayed as a time capsule for the regency era.

My edition had a great interlude that I would totally recommend reading, and also some chpaters that Jane had changed at last time, that gave her novel another ending
