Devil's Cut by J.R. Ward

5.0

My binge is finished at last. This was a great conclusion to this series. I felt like all of my questions were answered and nothing was left unresolved. The ending was almost perfect. Everyone got their "happily ever after" and the family has been brought back together. With the death of their father the Baldwine kids are able to finally exorcise their demons and move on from their past. Each child was able to own up to their faults and flaws. No longer did they run from the past (yes, I am talking about you Maxwell). Instead they came home to build a better future, together. Gin finally admits who Amelia's father is (even when she knows it could cost her) and she realizes there is more to life than money. Max learns that running isn't the answer. Sometimes you just need to come home and face your demons head on. Edward learns that you can't protect everyone no matter how hard you try (and he did try) and that sometimes you just have to put yourself first. And then there is Lane. He really stepped up to lead the family even though he had no idea what he was doing. I was pleasantly surprised by this series. It was so different from the other books of Ward's that I have read but it just goes to show that if she is the author I will read it.
