I really enjoyed this one.
I found it so creepy and off putting, especially in the first part where the worldbuilding was still underway. The idea that death is a matter of the past - and that you can’t even kill yourself - is such a chilling concept.
I liked the Hunger-Games style conflict of wondering if Rowan or Citra would be the chosen apprentice, and who would have to kill the other.
I liked the villain, and his cronies. I liked the cinematic aspect of them walking around in jewels and gems and doing as they please.
Very exciting and action packed, a thrill to read!
