I'm not sure where to even start with this one other than to say it was not good. I wanted Phury to come out of his celibate shell and be all bossy and alpha. I was very disappointed. I was happy with the ending of the book but that is about all. This felt more like a book where you are getting a lot of backstories and plots are being set up for future books (which isn't a bad thing) but I wanted more Cormia and Phury. They were hardly together and didn't communicate very much.
Phury is dealing with his drug addiction. He has lost control with his Red Smoke and he does want Cormia but can't seem to get anything right.
Cormia is dealing with feeling out of place. She is finding everything on the "other side" fascinating and not wanting to go back to the chosen.
What else can I say? Phury's book just didn't live up to my BDB badass alpha standards.
