This book has me feeling conflicted. I think the golden fool suffers from middle book syndrome - it hit in all the right places but it was definitely a book which built up anticipation for the third and final instalment of the trilogy and at times i found it dragged a lot.
None the less, I undoubtedly enjoyed my time within Fitzs mind. i am coming to adore to the focus on parenthood and found family which is a small thread through out. from Dutifuls changing relationship with Fitz to Haps struggles with adolescences —> love love love. I also am beyond excited for Nettle to become a more prevalent character but it will be heartbreaking.
The quarrel between the fool and fitz was a hard scene(s) to read. I enjoy the complicated relationship between them and to be they are neither lovers nor friends but simply two connected with soul. again, fearful but excited, for the direction their relationship heads in.
