Cutter Boy by Cristy Watson

5.0

There have been lots of stories about cutting and whatnot, but usually its girls. This book is about a guy that does it. Cutting isn't a gender specific thing. This book gives light to how someone feels and why they do cutting and possibly inspire those that does it to get help. Travis; the main character of the story, also get bullied by his classmates and have a tough time at home. But with the kindness of Chyvonne and his art/english teacher, Travis used paper cutting as an outlet instead of his skin. Since this book is so small, it is so concise and it feels as though the reader is in Travis' shoes. Great book! Hopefully others who are going through the same stressful situation will read it won't try cutting and instead get help and find a new creative and positive outlet instead. And the ending.... didn't expect that at all!
