The Conjurer by Luanne G. Smith

4.0

Sidra, Yvette, and Elena are once again caught up in a magical plot where Sidra must *again* assert that she did not kill her husband. This time, however, a powerful jinn is tracking her. Elena's husband has been bewitched and has fallen ill, and this time, if Elena doesn't reach Sidra he may die.

The story fits well within the realm of the first two novels. Here, we focus on Sidra, who I've always found to be a 'spicy' and interesting character. I'd always doubted that she killed her husband (why would she lie about that?) and everything gets wrapped up in this novel. I can't say that I'm 'happy' with the conclusion (when we find out what has happened to Sidra's husband) and I can say that I may be more focused on Elena's story than I am on other characters. Overall, still a fun read, just not as great as perhaps the first two novels.
