I loved every second of this book! OMG did I love it. I cannot stress how much I liked the main character, Grace, and her relationships with the other chatares. Everyone was a strong character all having unique traits and flaws making this a great book. As a big 'sucker' for paranormal romance books (yes, a bad pun) I absolutely can't recommend this book enough.
Grace has a great flair and humor that made reading from her perspective so enjoyable. She feels like a relatable modern teen character. From the very start of this book the pacing was fast and fun yet the romance was a slow burn. Thankfully there wasn't a really long and drawn out 'finding out vampires exist' scene which has really been done to death at this point.
I enjoyed that the writing style isn’t dumbed down simply because the book is primarily intended for teens yet it also isn't a book you need to have a dictionary at the ready to enjoy.
I wish the chapters had been longer (even though I loved the chapter names) because it made me think that it was the author's way of transitioning between one moment to another, rather than having many moments in one chapter.
It's a pretty predictable story overall but the plot is still unique and fun to read. It reminds me of a [b:Twilight|41865|Twilight (Twilight, #1)|Stephenie Meyer|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1617572541l/41865._SY75_.jpg|3212258] meets [b:Immortal Beloved|7823549|Immortal Beloved (Immortal Beloved, #1)|Cate Tiernan|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1341291825l/7823549._SY75_.jpg|10135086] with some ACOTAR thrown in.
All I can do now is prey that the second book in the series will live up to how much I enjoyed the first!
