The only thing I liked about this book is its cover.
I did like Sally Rooneys others books but Intermezzo was a huge disappointment. The characters were stereotypical and flat and I couldn’t relate to any of them. Also I was surprised that the books was extremely heteronormative (women are like that men are like that… the relationships between men and women are a complicated beautiful thing blabla). Also I personally didn’t like the writing style of Peters chapters and in general it was over the top, there were no nuances. All the things I did like about her other books I couldn’t find in this one.
