I read this book via Dracula Daily (ie in chronological order, on the dates the events happened in the book), with basically no knowledge of the actual plot beforehand except "uh Dracula evil vampire I guess?". I had a wonderful time reading this book and I truly believe a lot of that is thanks to all the people online who posted content related to the Dracula Daily entries. A lot of it was just memes and fanart and stuff but I did see some really interesting analyses as well that I myself probably wouldn't have thought of. But the thing that surprised me the most was that no one prepared me for how funny this book was! And for how full of love it was! I thought this would be horror through and through. Don't get me wrong, this was still very much a horror book, but it had some really funny moments as well. And the characters were so lovable, I grew really attached to them over the course of reading the book.

This next part is exclusive to my experience as a Dracula Daily reader, but I really enjoyed the concept of only getting an entry on the day that it happened. I don't think I would've fully understood how long Jonathan was stuck in the castle for unless it was spread out like this. I don't think I would've grasped the horror of the events on the Demeter unless I read the events one day at a time, not knowing what would happen next. I would've skimmed past it all too fast. Not knowing the plot also added to the horror of it all, I could worry for days wondering what would happen to the characters and when I'd get the next update. Truly a wonderful reading experience!

I could talk for days about the characters and different things that made me love them all but I won't. I already know that I will miss them very much and I will definitely reread this in its intended order some time, the book is already waiting for me on my bookshelf.

So if you haven't read Dracula yet - I highly recommend it! And if Dracula Daily runs again next year, I truly cannot recommend that enough.
