The Billionaire's Big Bold Woman by Nichole Rose

2.0

Love love Love Nichole Rose, but I just don't think I'm meant to read single father romances. They just end up feeling annoying and preachy and like: WE GET IT!!!! SHE'S SUPER GREAT, HE'S SUPER GREAT, EVERYONE IS SUPER GREAT! The writing is as good as ever and there was still stuff I liked. Mac's internal monologue's were fun. I think a lot of the sickly-sweet sentiments behind this one just set my teeth on edge. Both of their backstories really bothered me. Marion was such an over the top one dimensional villain (in this book AND the other one she appeared in) and Jenna's "harassed" by the press once thing was a weird origin story. I found myself rolling my eyes a lot. Some of the values talk and situations just felt forced to me. I can usually read a Rose book in one sitting, but this took me a few days.
I think if you're already a fan of this trope, you're going to really enjoy this one. It's still got all of Rose's usual style. For me it was too much and I'm looking forward to her next one to love instead.
