Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach

3.0

The beginning chapters had some interesting history about what has happened to human bodies after death. The author tries to make a gory subject readable by throwing in jokes and asides. After a while, I found this annoying.

The author goes into some medical and practical uses of corpses that happen in today's world. The second last chapter introduces new alternatives to cremation that are being developed. Your body could quickly be turned into compost to grow a flower bush one day.

If you have a weak stomach, this probably isn't a good book for you.
