This is a book that got better the further into the story you got. At first, I felt like it was trying too hard to be a mystery/thriller novel and everything was far too vague and it was getting to the point where there weren't even any hints about what was going on. I came very close to giving up on the book but once we were properly introduced to Daniel and then all of the dogs a little later on, I was hooked.
Daniel was such a great character, the kind that makes you sad that fictional people don't exist in real life. The doggos were amazing, I loved them all and am so proud of them all. It was never actually mentioned but in my mind, Lola was reunited with everyone!
I ended up enjoying this book more than I expected to and am glad I decided to carry on reading it.
