Nina Swann is recently widowed. A condolence card arrives from an old friend of her husband, Nick Radcliffe. Nina meets Nick and soon they become very close. Nina's daughter Ash however is suspicious of Nick so starts to look into him. Meanwhile Martha is married to Alistair who seems to be travelling for work a lot more.
I have enjoyed books by Lisa Jewell in the past and this is no exception. The author is an automatic read for me and again I'm not disappointed.
It's quite obvious from the beginning what the plot is about so there really isn't any build up to a twist. The story however is not without tension as I'm reading on the find out more about Nick and what he has been getting up to.
With what the plot intails the story does go back and forth quite a lot and I did have to keep up with all the characters and their involvement in the story. The plot is quite pacy and I found myself flying through the book. I did like the part towards the end where all involved come together and felt it was quite satisfying.
Another great offering from Lisa Jewell and I will look forward to whatever comes next.
