Miss Moriarty, I Presume? by Sherry Thomas

3.0

This installment of Lady Sherlock totally lost me for a while. Admittedly this was partially my fault, since I started it, then started (or finished) a few other books while still reading it here and there. But the stakes in the novel felt off-balance. We know Charlotte and Co. are not going to be killed by Moriarty and his henchmen, so the fear for their lives as they try to uncover the condition of Moriarty's daughter rings hollow. Much of the book felt like distraction until the actual plot developments in the last few chapters. That said! The characters were as fun as ever, especially Charlotte and Lord Ingram's unfolding romance.

My timing is excellent: I finished book 6 the same week that book 7 was published! Sadly the library holds are 3 months long. I should have jumped on the hold list sooner, as I will have inevitably forgotten all the complex plotting once the book finally hits my account....
