Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

Harry heard Bellatrix Lestrange's triumphant scream, but knew it meant nothing - Sirius had only just fallen through the archway, he could reappear from the other side any second . . .
But Sirius did not reappear.
'SIRIUS!' Harry yelled. 'SIRIUS!'
Harry's breath was coming in searing gasps. Sirius must be just behind the curtain, he, Harry, would pull him back out . . .
But has he sprinted towards the dais, Lupin grabbed Harry around the chest, holding him back.
'There's nothing you can do, Harry -'
'Get him, save him, he's only just gone through!'
' - it's too late, Harry.'
'We can reach him - ' Harry struggled hard and viciously, but Lupin would not let go . . .
'There's nothing you can do, Harry . . . nothing . . . he's gone.'

Have you ever re-read a book and been so excited for the book you've actually blocked out all the bad things that happen? Well I did just that during my re-read of OotP. I blocked out Sirius' death so when I got closer to it and it hit me that 'hey Elise remember how Sirius dies?' I was a mess.

Sirius is one of my favourite HP characters and his death is so heart breaking, the loss Harry goes through is so much and so unbearable. I can't help but clutch my knees to my chest and weep for him.

Overall though re-reading OotP was a great journey! The entire re-read of HP has been wonderful! I feel like I'm meeting old friends over again and it feels like it's been too long since we met.
