gordondym 's review for:
The Strange Case of the Alchemist's Daughter
by Theodora Goss
I originally intended to read this as part the Chicago Nerd Social Club's regular Book Club; however, I had encountered some delays reserving it through the Chicago Public Library's interlibrary loan...
And I'm glad I waited. This is a *great* book.
You might be thinking that its take on female "monsters" might just be another let's-use-public-domain-characters LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN riff...but it does so much more than that.
I loved the book's atmospheric prose, its straightforward plot, and...
well, I want to read the sequel. NOW.
Definitely worth reading.
