This book ripped my heart out. There was so much yearning and emotion between Dong Xian and Liu Xin across their lifetimes. I do feel like I was looking for more at the end—what was the curse Joey was trying to undo? It felt like there were a lot of loose ends by the end that I was waiting to get remedied.

I am looking forward to reading more Justinian Huang in the future.
