3.5
This was a cute collection of queer stories that was perfect to read at night before bed. A little less diverse than I was hoping in terms of represented sexualities and genders - there was far more representation for WLW than for MLM for example - but I still feel like it captured a range of different experiences that middle grade children can through as well as a range of different genres, which was fun!
My favourites from the collection are Paper planes by Claribel A Ortega (this was so sweet and I loved the concept of the paper planes, want to read more by this author now!), Devoyn's pod by Mariama J Lockington (the character voice felt so clear, I adored the way marine biology came into play and it captured so well the feeling of feeling left out) and The golem and the mapmaker by Molly Knox Ostertag (heartfelt, sweet and creative - I continue to love everything she writes).
