Well, it seems I have missed out with part of the story. I have never been able to see this in any local library in my different places I've lived. But I found it in my newest library. Evidently, there used to be a section where one of the mommies has IVF so the two mommies can have a baby.
I thought it was a very cute book and it teaches kids about the many types of families we have. As we can see when the kids at school drew pictures of their families. Mom and dad, mama and mama, Grandma, daddy and papa, and more. The illustrations were cute too.
This book was banned/challenged because of the fact that Heather has two mommies and no daddy. And I'm sure the whole IVF part was offensive to some.
