Love Poems for People with Children by John Kenney

This book is not for me. Written by a man who does not seem to like his children at all. I was made speechless by a lot of the content. I love my baby more than life itself. I love him so much that sometimes it’s hard to breathe when I look at him. I can’t imagine writing or even thinking a lot of what is said in this book. Like I said, it’s clearly not written for me: a mother whose baby is her whole world. Also, why is only one author listed when some poems are written by his wife? The fact that the first acknowledgments were dedicated to the people who hated his last book… dude, take the hint. Also! I wouldn’t consider a single inch of this book poetry. Full sentences chopped into multiple lines is not poetry. There’s no art to this or effort. At all!
