first of all: this main character is soooo annoying. she spends the whole book blaming everyone around her for being mean and a bitch, especially irene, when she’s the only one who’s consistently rude and mean out of nowhere. she’s mean and keeps starting fights for nothing; the only thing i could think by the time the main couples gets together is that irene deserves more than that :/

also this whole book is so white and american lol. the main character’s relatioship with her family is something that me, as a latina, found CRAZYYYYY. and every other interaction or reaction from the mc was just as insane. she just brushes off irene’s comments about what she faces being south-asian, and has so much entitled behavior…also irene’s ending was so boring like why would she gave up when she herself admitted she knows how important in would be to have a cheerleader win, and even more for a person of color…  they also dont say the word "lesbian" at all! not even "lgbtq" or "bi" or anything. just "gay" or "queer". ok then sure.

very disappointing overall. i expected cute sports romance but all i got was an egoistic main character and more scenes in a car then in a basketball game lol
