You and Me on Vacation by Emily Henry

emotional funny medium-paced

4.0

This book was actually good, I was scared not to like it because I know most people weren’t as fond of this book as EH’s other books.

The summer vibes definitely delivered. I had the pleasure to read about travelling and meeting people because I myself want to just travel and meet people from different countries/ cultures… I felt like I traveled a bit around North America. Also the mention of New Orleans, I couldn’t not think of Klaus😂☺️

The characters were interesting, I appreciated how different they both were. For example Poppy is the kind to let loose and experience things the way they come to her. Whereas, Alex is the shy guy who’s very organised and likes to control things. I felt like two part of me were combined in these two characters. Therefore I related to them a lot.

The romance was soo well written. The tension that was building up was well done. I am so happy I found a romance book that wasn’t 80% of spice and 20% of plot. I took great satisfaction reading their banter, like they seemed to be speaking a language only the two of them knew.

I did have one probably with this book, when we got to around 70% of the book, I was losing interest in what happened in there past vacation. Their relationship got verily absorbing, thus when we got these moments in the past I wanted to skip them.

Through the whole book I couldn’t stop thinking of how similar this book is to the tv show « One day », that’s why I would recommend this book to you if you liked the show! 💛⛱
