As Dust Dances by Samantha Young

4.0

4/5*
The novel tells a story about Skylar - a former rockstar, who escaped from an unhappy life and a terrible tragedy that took place in her family. Skylar always dreamt about having a band, singing and achieving a huge success in music industry. But when she gets what she always wanted, she realizes that she's not happy. But she keeps going, not to disappoint her mother, who sacrificed a lot for her, and her bandmates. Her mother's murder was 'the last straw that broke the camel's back'. Skylar leaves the band and goes to Europe and later, despite having millions of dollars on her account, she becomes a homeless street musican. Everything changes when she's discovered by Killian O'Dea - a music producer, who promises to help her in exchange for her songs and voice.

The first half of the book was an easy five star read. At that point I loved Skylar and Killian's relationship - their constant bickering and sarcastic dialogues.
Spoiler But when they got together, there were too many erotic scenes that made their relationship seems a little shallow. Their dialogues became less interesting and funny and more focused on their attraction to each other - which I didn't like

It was an extremely quick read for me. Samantha Young has a gift - she is writing her books in such nice and pretty language that makes it effortless to dive into the novel and forget about everything else.
