This was cute, but I feel like I only read it cause I wanted to support a book with D&D in it.

'Dungeons and Drama' by Kristy Boyce is the first book in the series of the same name. In it we find high schoolers Riley and Nathan. Riley is a musical theatre kid that might have pushed her divorced parents too far and has now been sentenced to getting an apart time job at her dad's game shop. Nathan is a regular at the shop and doesnt understand how Riley can dislike it all so much. When in a bind to make her musical dreams come true Riley pitches a bargain to Nathan to help him secure the attention of the gamer girl he likes. But as they work closely side by side and get to know one another their truce starts to feel like friendship and maybe something more?

there was zero surprises with this and zero things out of the ordinary. I love D&D have been paying since I was a small kid at the feet of my Dungeon Master Dad, learning from in my opinion a great. So when I see a book that features it its an auto knee jerk action I must read it. But maybe it's the amount of crackling in my joints of those weird grey hairs but I'm finding it harder to enjoy light books like this. I find it incredibly funny though that this can be shelved right next to a fantasy ya book that has tons of nitty gritty hard topics like death, genocide, rape and the like. I feel like theres got to be a better classification of novels.

Anyways, this was a cute quick read. I have the lovely bright book on my shelf and I will probably read and buy the next one.
