I absolutely loved the first book in the series, and I also thoroughly enjoyed this one. It’s so cozy and the characters are so lovable, despite the darker tone of this book. The only thing that I had an issue with was the ending. One of the main things I loved about the first book was how closely the story aligned with real-world experiences of oppression, advocacy, and fighting against prejudice. The resolution of this book lost that for me because it was so magical. It makes sense, because the truth is you can’t fight oppression as easily as the book did, but that was a little disappointing for me.
