A very short collection of essays considering race in American literature. Unfortunately I hadn't read most of the novels referred to, nor was I familiar with the authors enough to get much from this piece of work. I read it primarily to read something by Toni Morrison after first hearing of her after her death. I am hoping to read some of her fiction next.
