This is some of the best Danish literature out there. Aidt is an absolutely wonderful author. She really captures how people are behaving like animals and how they are only thinking about their appearance. All the short stories are about those themes. The writing is not emotional at all and we almost only hear about the actions and not the thoughts of the characters, because Aidt wants to show that people only think about the outside, and not the inside today. So the theme and the form fit perfectly together. She is incredible, and so is this collection of short stories.
