Spoilers ahead - Disappointed because I’ve loved some of his other books. It is compelling if you are okay reading traumatic events and can overlook the narcissistic males that swarmed the lead. BUT the twist wasn’t the typical one where the reader infers what happened incorrectly by the author offering a lot of options to the reader. Nope. Here the third party narrator legit lies to the reader. That’s the only way later you are shocked because it was so obviously this person until they “died”.
