This book reminds me of: Summer Sisters, the last great american dynasty, & The Life and Death Brigade. Therefore, it is the perfect book. I love Lou! I love that she is a writer, & I love the glamorous summer she has herself at the Cardew House. Lou’s relationship with her sister Alice is so real — the tension that comes with change & wanting different things for each other is so raw & honest. I felt Caitlin’s pain, & I was rooting for her the whole time, & I obviously loved Robert. What a fabulous cast of characters, from Lou’s family to the Cardews’ friends. Most of all, I love that this is more than a love story. This is a story about a girl chasing her passions & goals, & if love fits into the mix, then that’s just an added bonus.
