Jen Monroe dreams of marrying the love of her life and filling a minivan full of kids, but hasn't found the right man. Jen's unlucky love life might have to do with her being in love with Abel Miller, her brother's best friend, who has a notorious reputation as a playboy with no interest in marriage or kids. When Jen's father tells her he has cancer and that he wants to see her dreams come true, Abel suggests she move in with him as his fake wife. Things heat up between them when Jen realizes her feelings aren't one-sided and Abel's not the playboy he pretends to be.
This is one of the best brother's best friend books that I've read in a while. Brother's best friend + he's been in love with her as long as she's been in love with him if not longer, is an elite combo. The mutual pining is perfect and Abel and Jen nailed it.
Your Honor, I'm obsessed with Abel Miller. The man is obsessed with everything about Jen. I love how deeply he cared for her over the years. His love was prevalent even when he didn't realize it. Acts of service is 100% this man's love language. The way he is always thinking about her and how to make her life a little easier shows how deep his love is for her. They say that "to be loved is to be seen" and that describes Abel Miller's love for Jen Monroe to a tee.
The spice was great. Jessica always surprises me with her spice because her books are so sugar sweet in the best way. π play doesn't do much for me, but the scene in chapter 26 was HOT π₯΅
Thank you to Jessica Peterson and Valentine PR for the early copy!
