Mark of the Gladiator by Heidi Belleau, Violetta Vane

5.0

This book turned out far better than I thought it would be. The debauchery in the beginning made me think I would hate it. But, it turned out to be a roller coaster of a tale that kept me reading. I really felt for the gladiatrices and Anazar and Felix, which was an amazing turn of events because at the beginning I hated him.

There's more to him than meets the eye. And I like that when Felix and Anazar meet its not love at first sight, in fact Anazar kind of hates him. Felix seems to be just a flighty, horny malcontent. But, he's more.

I thought it would be hard to have a happy ending in the book, but there was one and I was definitely fulfilled by it.

We even get to hear about what happens to the gladiatrices. Which made me grin.
