It is professionalism taken a to an extreme. Extremes never work for anything. I enjoyed reading this book because the writing is so nice. It is not at all a difficult book. BUT if you have some knowledge about WWII and how things operated in the political sphere of WWII in Europe then this book will be much more enjoyable for you. Although, I didn't have an in-depth knowledge about WWII but I still enjoyed it. I loved the descriptions of nature when the main character was "motoring". 
Haha...
