The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett

4.0

This book resonated deeply at this moment. Standing up for what is right, doing the hard things, seeing with more than your first sight, and thinking with second and third thoughts. Opening your eyes, and then opening them again to see beyond yourself.

Also, just a nice story of a little witch who makes good.

2021 Reread: The moment when Tiffany gets into it with No'-As-Big-As-Medium-Jock-But-Bigger-Than-Wee-Jock-Jock over his name is a really lovely example of someone insisting that a well-meaning but dismissive pronouncer use their correct name. This Feegle's calm and firm reminders to Tiffany as she awkwardly stumbles over his name are reminders to us all to accord each other the respect of calling one another by our name.
