Deadly by Sara Shepard

3.0

Okay so I guess I lied a couple of books back about how she could never make me feel sorry for these girls, cause damn did this book really put them through the ringer. I was so excited when they FINALLY went to the police, but then of course that blew up in their face. The A helper reveal did a lot to make me feel bad for them as well, because sure at the end of the day they made their own decisions, but he kind of lead them to those decisions. Total entrapment. And yay for the confirmation of alive Ali, but boo for the police not believing. (Really it's easier to believe that all 4 girls hallucinated the exact same thing than that the girl who once tortured them and whose body was never found is at it again? Excellent police work.)

Oh and Emily's family SUCKS! At least the other girls each had someone. Emily should never talk to them again, but of course she will. Because just like the family magically became accepting of her being gay, I'm sure in the next book they'll be all about her again. My biggest complaint about Shepard is her characterization.
