John Irving does a fantastic job of bringing you into every characters life as he writes. The little backstories he writes for them act as a better way to know them, than any direct information you’re given. It feels like a book you would get bored reading, but somehow I’ve found myself not wanting to finish the book on more occasions than wanting to. Overall John Irving has done another wonderful job making me cry over wildly real-feeling characters. The long winded story telling matches the necessary time someone needs to KNOW the characters and appreciate the details. I loved it.
