A Scandinavian Christmas: Festive Tales for a Nordic Noël by Selma Lagerlöf, Hans Christian Andersen, Karl Ove Knausgård, Vigdis Hjorth

3.0

Given I didn’t do research about the contents of this collection... so, my expectations could have been misplaced. But, looking at the title, and the subtitle: “Festive Tales for a Nordic Noël”, I was expecting a more themed collection. Regarding traditions, cultural details, mythology, legends, you know…

Instead, in my perspective, this collection is more a collection of short stories written by scandinavian authors... and just that...

Still, I enjoyed some of them, and here they are:

“The Fur Coat” by Hjalmar Söderberg, Sweden

“The Forest Witch” by Johan Krohn, Denmark

“The Legend of the Christmas Rose” by Selma Lagerlöf, Sweden

Please let me know if this is a “me problem”, and you don’t see as I do!
