My Drunk Kitchen Holidays!: How to Savor and Celebrate the Year: A Cookbook by Hannah Hart

5.0

Dollycas’ and LizzieCas’ Thoughts

Since my accident, my daughter Lizzie has become the cookbook collector of the family and she loves to bake and cook so I thought it would be fun if we reviewed this book together.

Hannah Hart puts an awesome take on our year-long festivities with fun stories and recipes. As well she gives a great look into other days just as “Mental Health Day” and “Love Our Children Day”.

Some may think this book is more of a storybook instead of a cookbook we feel it’s a happy medium of both. We really enjoyed the author’s messages to introduce the book, each month, and each holiday. They are fun and informative and gave the book a more personal feeling. The pictures are colorful, some are pretty amusing showing readers Hannah Hart’s great sense of humor.

This will be a book we pull out all year through and we can’t wait to try the recipes for this holiday season. The green bean casserole graced our table for Thanksgiving (a new twist on an old staple). With cookie baking right around the corner, we will take Hannah’s advice to have a cocktail. She also includes some excellent advice about kids and explaining Santa and the magic of Christmas.

This book would make a great Christmas present to share with loved ones. We already have started out lists!
