Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith

5.0

It’s a historical fiction, thriller, and serial killer hunt all in one. What more could I ask for? Well written, morally gray characters, and Stalin-era Russian communism… well that sealed the deal. I’m hooked. I loved the plot line, the connections between stories, the horrors against humanity, and yet the best parts of humanity’s solidarity and compassion. Leo’s character arc is beautiful and tragic, and Raisa goes from a “meh” character until you get to know her and then she’s a bad ass and I absolutely loved her. Highly recommend and I will be reading the next book in the series!
