The Unquiet Bones
by Loreth Anne White
I am always down to read a book featuring a group of friends with a dark past and lots of secrets so I was super excited for this book. It was told from alternating timelines - going back and forth from the present and the past. I was so intrigued while reading. What had happened to Annalise so many years ago and why? But as much as I tried to guess, I definitely didn't see the dark turn that this book took in the end. Wow, for me I found the ending completely unexpected (and that's all I will say because I don't want to give anything away). After reading and enjoying all three of the books I've read by this author, she is getting added to to my favorites list. My favorite of hers remains In the Dark but each of her books has been at least four stars for me. This is yet another author who I need to work on the backlist of.
Readers who enjoy dark, suspenseful reads that build slowly to a stunning conclusion need to give this book a try. I think that I'm settling on four stars overall.
